Dan Michel graduated from Kent State with a Bachelors Degree in Social Studies in 1986. He obtained his Masters Degree in Administration in 1994 from Ashland University. Mr. Michel began teaching History and Government at Jackson in 1989. Mr. Michel received his Certified Athletic Administrator Certificate (CAA) in 2016. Mr. Michel became the the Athletic Director and Faculty Manager at JMMS in 2012. Prior to being at Jackson Mr. Michel taught two years at Lake High School. Mr. Michel is married to Heidi, and they are the proud parents of Nathan, class of 04, Zachary, class of 13, and Patrick class of 16.

What athletics teaches is the self- discipline of hard work and sacrifice necessary to achieve a goal. Nowadays, too many people are looking for a short cut. Life is the same as athletics. You have to work to accomplish anything.
