Welcome new fourth graders and families! We are going to have a great year! I am so excited to be your Math and Science teacher this year.
This is my sixteenth year of teaching, and my tenth year at Sauder. The Sauder team is a great group of professionals who love what they do, and it shows. I am grateful to work with these amazing people. My teaching experience includes Revere Local Schools in Bath, Ohio and Northwest Local Schools in Canal Fulton. I have really enjoyed my time in fourth grade as the students are so ready for the challenges that come their way (and they get my corny jokes:). I am a graduate of Kent State University where I received both my undergraduate and Master's of Education degree. My husband Steve is an I.T. guy. He and I have three children, two dogs, and a horse. Hannah, our oldest, is a social worker in Columbus. She is married to Jordan, and they live in Columbus with my "grand-doggers" Ducky and Goose. Aubrey, the middle child, is a graduate student at the University of Cincinnati. She will be working earning her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ben, the youngest, is a junior in college studying Construction Engineering. I miss my days of being a soccer mom, but I fill that time with other endeavors. Opie Doodle-Bug and Toby Rat-Dog are the Podnar pound puppies. Skeeter is our horse that Aubrey and I share. We both ride, but not at the same time. :) I'm sure as the school year progresses, the students will hear many stories of Hannah, Aubrey, Ben, Rat-Dog, Doodle-Bug, and Skeeter.
I will be communicating with parents via the Remind app and email, so make sure I have a current email address on file. Please send in a note, email me, or call if you need to contact me. I will get back with you as soon I am able. My email address is: jjp2jc@jackson.sparcc.org. My phone number at school is (330)830-8028 x5136. I look forward to partnering with you this year in the educational process of your child. We are going to have a great year!Sincerely,Mrs. Jennifer Podnar4th Grade TeacherSauder Elementary
