Here you will be able to find important information, special dates, and pictures for our annual third grade president/first lady project.

What is the project about? General Information:
*Each student will be researching a president or first lady. We will be researching specific information here at school to create fact cards, a speech and an oval office. Any research that you are able to help with at home or print out pictures at home will be appreciated. Students will be creating an "oval office" at school, using a board the teacher will provide. Students will bring in any items to decorate their board or be used as display pieces the day before the project. On the project day, students will come dressed as their president or first lady and give a speech to their classmates and other students and staff.

    Research includes topics such as:
Family life: childhood, parents, siblings, education, marriage
    Birth/death: when and where
Interesting facts: pets, favorite foods, hobbies, etc
    Number of years in office
    # president/first lady (Ex:16th president Abraham Lincoln)
Good things accomplished while in office
Events that happened while in office
Special facts about the president or first lady
    Famous quotes

*Students will use the research (from home and school) to complete a presentation board and speech about their president or first lady. Students will print out pictures from home and school to use for their display board. Students may bring in patriotic items to decorate the presentation board. Display boards are provided for each student. We re-use these each year. Boards will be completed at school.

*Students will "dress the part" of their president or first lady and present to the school and parents on our presentation day.
