My Home Page

  • Hello parents and students and welcome to 6th grade!

I am so excited to be your teacher (and your child's teacher) this school year. This is my fifth year teaching and I am so thrilled to be here at JMMS! I graduated from Kent State Stark University in December 2015 with my Middle Childhood Education degree (grades 4-9) with concentrations in math and language arts. I did my student teaching at Amherst Elementary and I am beyond excited to continue my teaching career in the Jackson Local School District.

A little bit about me - My husband and I have been married for 4 years and we welcomed our first child last September. Our daughter, Elliana will turn one on September 24th! I have definitely enjoyed getting to be home for so much of her first year of life! My husband, Ryan, is currently in the United States Air Force Reserves.  He works as a Loadmaster on C-130 aircraft.  We live in Canton with our Goldendoodle, Axel.

A little bit about my class - All information regarding language arts will be found on my Polaris page. Your child will be able to show you where all course materials, assignments, and notes are located for my class. Regardless of learning model chosen, all students will find the same information on Polaris. Please keep in mind that everything about this year is new for everyone involved. Please be patient with me (and the rest of the teachers) and with your child as we all navigate new waters! The motto for this school year is "Rise to the Challenge" and that is what we will have to do!

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Email is always the quickest and easiest way to do that. This year will not look like any other year but I am really looking forward to the 2020-21 school year and I know we will all learn so much. It is my hope that your children will grow as students and as young adults in my classroom!

    Go Polar Bears!!
